The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Transportation (FUT), Daura, Prof. Umar Adam Katsayal, mni, has visited the headquarters of Tectonics Engineering Group in Abuja as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between the university and the engineering industry.

The visit was aimed at creating opportunities for students of the institution to gain practical skills and industry-based experience to complement their academic training.

Tectonics Engineering Group, an engineering consultancy firm with more than 20 years’ experience in geotechnical services, civil engineering materials testing and engineering design, showcased its facilities and modern equipment used for engineering analysis and testing.

Discussions during the visit focused on the firm’s TERRABRIDGE programme, an initiative designed to expose students to hands-on experience through real-life engineering projects, mentorship and professional guidance.

Prof. Katsayal expressed interest in enabling FUT Daura students to participate in the programme, noting that such exposure would help bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry practice.

Both parties agreed that the proposed collaboration would enhance the university’s curriculum and contribute to the production of graduates equipped with relevant skills required by the engineering sector.

The visit underscores the university’s commitment to strengthening industry partnerships in line with its mandate to produce competent and industry-ready graduates.
